“Expectations. Learn to let them go.

When my birth plan did not go the way I wanted it to, I remember just mourning the loss of a dream I had. I’ll never forgot those words when they told me “he is transverse and breech” my dr told me I could try to turn him around, and for a week straight I did exercises to get him moving. He wasn’t budging.
This was not my plan. It was never in my mind to have a csection, actually it was the last thing I wanted. I felt like my body had failed me. Not only did I have hypertension and preeclampsia but now I have to have a major surgery to ensure the safety of my baby. That’s where I learned that this isn’t all about me. This is about my health and the health of the little boy I would soon meet.

It is okay to mourn the loss of your birth plan. It is okay to be upset that things did not go the way you expected them to go. Take time for yourself and let your mind and body heal. 💙”
