We’re Allowed To Want A Baby Of Our Own

Adoption and having our own child are not synonymous. They are not equal. They are not comparable. They are of two different worlds. Just because I can’t have children like other women doesn’t mean I need to pick a different option. It’s not selfish for us to want to have our own baby.

I know this because we live this. We love our son and he’s adopted. We are grateful for him. He has taught us more about understanding and patience then I could have ever imagined. I don’t consider him less of my child because he didn’t come from me. I’m grateful that he made me a mom, but I’m not asking to just be a mom. I’m asking for the chance to create, carry and birth a baby from my husband and I. I’m allowed to want that.
