“My name is Alyssa & I am the ⓆⓊⒺⒺⓃ of worrying for no reason. 💁🏻♀️ During my pregnancy, my anxiety multiplied by about a million. I’m not proud of it BUT because of this, I feel encouraged to share some things that I wish I knew before going into pre-term labor. (And this is all just my opinion, obviously 😆) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💫 Trust your instincts and do not question yourself. You WILL know what’s up with your body. If you have to advocate for yourself, DO IT without hesitation.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💫 Don’t worry about your hospital bag. I want you to read that 10 more times. I had multiple lists of things ready to go and planned to pack our bags a few weeks early. I do suggest packing one but you don’t need much. Anything you don’t have, they WILL give you. Save yourself money on the cute new robes, socks and and all that fun stuff. You won’t care at all about it when you’re in the moment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💫 You will lose all of your pride and it will be totally fine. I promise. At one point, there were 15 (seriously, I counted in between contractions) people in the room staring at me. I had zero cares about any of them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💫 Your husband will still love you when he sees all thaaaat. (Seriously, I was worried he would find me disgusting but he’s actually been bragging about me and it strokes my ego every time I hear him say how strong I was. 😉 )⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💫 If you want pain meds, get em and if you don’t, that’s fine too. You will not have time to be scared of the pain. In that moment, you exist for one reason only and it’s to bring your child into this world. It’s exhausting and hard and indescribable but what you’ll remember most is how strong you felt when you saw your baby for the first time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💫 You are amazing. ❤️”
