What happens after you give birth⠀
⠀
1. YOU WILL HAVE A REALLY HEAVY PERIOD – No matter how you give birth (c-section or va-j) you will have postpartum bleeding. This is called lochia and It lasts as little as two to three weeks or as long as six weeks after birth. ⠀
.⠀
2. Your nether regions might be a mess – You may be dealing with a swollen, stitched up mighty mess that even Stephen King couldn’t dream up. But it will get get better….promise. ⠀
.⠀
3. You will still look pregnant. It’s a common myth that as soon as your baby is out, your stomachs will be flat again. The reality is that you’ll still look 6 months pregnant for a little while yet⠀
⠀
4. Your hair might fall out – This is one of those wonderful hormone side effects that can come with giving birth. Again, don’t stress too much. It will grow back. ⠀
.⠀
5. Breastfeeding might be difficult. In fact, scrap that – for some women breastfeeding is actually the HARDEST bit of having a baby. Ask for help whilst your in the hospital and, If you want to formula feed, don’t beat yourself up. Do what’s best for you. ⠀
⠀
6. You will hate your husband. Fact. He will sleep and you won’t. He won’t be in pain and you will. You’re allowed to hate him – you will love him again eventually.⠀
⠀
7. You will feel hot (and not in a good way) Gross, sweaty, fat man hot. Thank your hormones. Once again they may be to blame for giving you hot flashes and making feel like a high-noon hot dog vendor. ⠀
.⠀
8. You might have hard boobs – try skipping a feeding while you’re nursing and you’ll have a pretty good idea what that’s like. ⠀
.⠀
Anything I’ve missed off the list?⠀
.⠀
(Also little disclaimer here – I don’t want to scare anyone. All of these things *might* happen but then WILL get better!) ⠀
