“Crap… I still need to pump,” “Hold on baby, mama needs 5 more minutes,” “Can you please watch him, so I can nap for a bit?” “I’ll work when he’s asleep,” “Screw it . I’m too tired to work tonight,” “I’m changing my baby’s diaper.. one moment,” “Shhh. Mommy is in a meeting,” Okay mommy is done ! Let’s play,” “Let’s change your diaper,” “Time for a bath,” “Are you hungry?” “Okay it’s nap time,” “Okay he’s napping. I’m going to try to work for a bit,” “Can we call around noon? That’s when my husband can watch the baby,” “I’m going to close my eyes for just 20 minutes..” “I’ll work this weekend. It’s fine.” Being a parent is c-h-a-l-l-e-n-g-i-n-g😊 Being a parent and working full time from home is a SKILL🤪 There are some days I’m about to lose my shit🤬. I’ve worked with milk stains on my shirt🍼. I’ve fallen asleep in random parts of the house💤 . I’ve changed a diaper and gotten poop on my hands and keyboard🤗 Other days I feel so grateful my husband and I have been able to be home with our son for the past for months. I tell myself to not feel bad for prioritizing my son and our time together. I know when to close my computer and give him my attention. Balancing work and being a mommy full time has pushed me, taught me, and ultimately strengthened me🙏🏼 It is NOT easy, but we can get this done. Shout out to all my mamas and papas out there making it happen during this crazy time💖.”
